The central question that needs to be answered in the next election is this: who has the better vision for the future? Donald Trump, Jason Kenney and the energy dinosaurs? Or Rachel Notley and the energy pragmatists?
Given the fact that the rest of the world has accepted climate science and that the global energy economy is in the midst of a profound transformation, the interests of Albertans – including those working in the oil and gas sector itself– are best served by embracing the vision of the energy pragmatists, rather than allowing ourselves to be seduced by the siren song of the energy dinosaurs.
What Alberta needs to do is adapt to change, not deny that change is right around the corner.
Because of their complete lack of interest in planning for the future, Jason Kenney and the UCP are literally the last thing Albertans need at this crucial moment in our province’s history.
